The expectation is that there will be a lot of incomings and outgoings at Celtic over the summer. For now, the focus is on finishing the season strong and hopefully, with a treble. But after that, Brendan Rodgers will look to strengthen his squad further, having seen his team struggle for form in the second half of this season and lose back-to-back Glasgow Derbies against a weak Rangers team.

Naturally, most eyes are on potential incomings. Celtic are being linked with new players almost every day. And yet, quite a few could be heading for the exit door as well.

One such name is that of Luis Palma. The Honduran winger is currently out on loan at Olympiacos. But he has not been able to make much of an impact at the Greek club and they are not expected to activate the buyout clause in his deal.

So, Palma will be returning to Celtic Park in the summer. He has been told that he does not have much of a future at Parkhead though and will most probably be sent out on loan against. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, John Hartson said on Go Radio:

"Unless he comes back and he improves dramatically, then I think Brendan will look to bring other players in.

“You will probably see Palma, what did you say, three years left on his contract, so I would imagine the plan for Palma would be to go back out on loan. Where you can still pay him half of the wages, and another club help you out, in terms of his finances.

“You aren’t going to use him that much."

Palma was signed by Celtic in the summer of 2023 from Aris FC. Incidentally, he was brought as the replacement for Jota.

Now, Celtic have Jota back at the club. On the other hand, it looks like it is Palma who will be on his way out soon, whether that is on a permanent basis or another loan spell.

There is no question about Palma's talents. We have seen glimpses of that, even in the Champions League. It is consistency that he has struggled with.
