Another season has come and almost gone. Celtic have one more game to deal with, the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen. It will give them the chance to win their sixth treble in just nine seasons. So, there is no doubt that it is a contest the Hoops will want to win. But there is no denying that some eyes are already on the summer transfer window.
The aim for Celtic has to be to strengthen during the summer. Unfortunately, there are quite a few key players being linked with moves away as well.
One of them is Nicolas Kuhn. He was heavily linked with a move down to England in the winter. While he stayed on at Parkhead then, it would come as no surprise if the German winger did end up at a Premier League club in the summer.
Kuhn has been linked with Premier League constants like Newcastle United and Everton, but now, he has been tipped for a move to newly promoted Leeds United. An article from Football League World read:
"With the Solomon deal now seeming unlikely, the Whites should instead turn their attention north of the border, to a Celtic side that have recently claimed their fourth consecutive Premiership title.
Leeds have been linked with the Bhoys’ 33-goal frontman Daizen Maeda recently, but with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea all having watched the Japanese international, it could make more sense for them to set their sights on Kuhn instead.
Having already been tipped for a move to Elland Road earlier this season, the club’s interest in the German winger is seemingly concrete and sustained."
Celtic player tipped to join Leeds United this summer
Kuhn is a great talent, there is no doubt about that. But this season, we saw his consistency issues as well. In the first half of the campaign, the German winger was phenomenal and almost carried Celtic at times. He was the runaway favourite to win the Player of the Year. In fact, there did not seem to be a close second.
But then, Kuhn's form dropped drastically in the second half of the campaign. On the other hand, Daizen Maeda peaked and ended up with the Player of the Year award.
Thus, this season, we saw both sides of Kuhn. As a result, one has to question whether he is ready for the jump to the Premier League at this point or would benefit from playing another season at Celtic and under the management of Brendan Rodgers.
