Ange Postecoglou enjoyed a remarkable time as the manager of Celtic, winning five trophies in just two seasons despite arriving under difficult circumstances in the summer of 2021. Things have proven to be much more tougher for him at Tottenham Hotspur though and there is a very real possibility that he could end up getting sacked in the summer.

That being said, Tottenham Hotspur are still in the Europa League. Could Postecoglou do the unthinkable and guide them to silverware this season?

If he is able to do that, then Postecoglou will surely remain as the manager of Tottenham Hotspur beyond this season. In that case, could he end up looking to sign one of his favourites from Celtic in the summer transfer window?

Daizen Maeda is having his best season in a Celtic shirt. For a long time, he had been praised for his work-rate and ability to press. But now, the Japanese forward has added consistent goals to his game as well. He already has 28 goals to his name in this campaign.

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Paul Slane said while talking on Open Goal about Maeda:

"I worry Celtic, I said last week that he could go in the summer, just because of how good he is. He has been amazing in the Champions League.

“Spurs. Ange. Down there. Do they need to win all this Europa League to get into the Champions League? I have never seen anyone who presses like him.

“The way modern teams want to play, and especially the way Ange wants to play, do you not think Maeda is perfect for that and the way he wants to press?!

“His finishing and the quality of his finishing as well, which is very high and Spurs haven’t had that this season."

It would come as no surprise if there is a ton of interest in signing Maeda from Celtic in the summer transfer window. That is something that the club have gotten very used to over the years.

Whenever a Celtic player is having a good season, it feels almost inevitable that there will be interest in his signature down south. And Postecoglou knows Maeda very well, not only from his time at Parkhead but in Japan as well.

As a result, it would make sense for him to try and sign the Japanese forward for Tottenham Hotspur. Of course, that is if he stays at the club beyond this season.
