Coming into this January transfer window, we all knew how badly Celtic needed to add to their squad. The first half of the campaign was an absolute disaster for the Hoops. Except for Martin O'Neill's interim stint, they were not able to find any kind of form. They were struggling badly before Brendan Rodgers' resignation and things only got worse from there, with Wilfried Nancy winning just two of his eight games in charge.

Despite this, Celtic have not been able to strengthen their squad so far in this window. Their only addition has been the loan arrival of Julian Araujo from Bournemouth. He could play a key role in the absence of Alistair Johnston. But a lot more help is needed if O'Neill is to have any chance of turning things around.

Things do not seem to be imminent on the arrival front. But it looks like players are looking to leave Celtic this month as well, and are being more active about it.

As reported by Mark Hendry on his Substack, Odin Thiago Holm wants another loan spell and does not intend to stay at the club to show O'Neill what he can do. He has instructed his team to find him another club.

The report also goes on to confirm that his representatives have already made it clear that Holm wants to try somewhere else. So, do not be surprise if his exit goes through this month.

And to be fair, it might be the best step for all parties involved. It is not expected that Holm will come in and make an immediate impact, even though the Hoops have a different manager in the form of O'Neill.

Holm was so highly regarded when he arrived at Celtic but things simply have not worked out for him at Parkhead. It is hard to imagine that he has a long-term future at the club.
