Celtic made easy work of Kilmarnock on Sunday, winning 5-1 in the absence of Martin O'Neill, whose absence through health issues saw assistant Shaun Maloney fill in.
An unchanged Celtic side got off the mark quickly, scoring the opener after just two minutes. Arne Engels took the ball wide and placed it perfectly at the back post with a deft cross, allowing Kasper Hogh to score his first Hoops goal with a simple header.
The game remained open after the goal, and Kilmarnock almost grabbed a leveller, only for Auston Trusy to clear off the line. Kieran Tierney and Benjamin Nygren could have - and perhaps should have - scored shortly after with chances of their own.
But the second goal did come in the 32nd minute when Kilmarnock failed to clear their lines, and the ball trickled through to Hogh, who scored his second with an impressive first-time curling shot.
It got better for Hogh minutes later when Camilo Duran chipped a cross to the back post, and the Dane turned home his hat-trick goal with a diving header.
Hogh got his fourth right after half-time when he produced a confident finish after being passed the ball by the Killie goalkeeper, Max Stryjek. But the home side got one back in the 56th minute when the ball was worked well to find the open Michael Schjønning-Larsen, who produced a fine finish into the far bottom corner.
Celtic's fifth goal came in the 75th minute when substitute Luke McCowan hooked home a bouncing ball following a corner that was flicked on by Auston Trusty.
Viljami Sinisalo - 7
A solid enough display from the Celtic keeper, who couldn't do much at all about the one goal. It was a well-paced finish.
Alistair Johnston (Off at 49') - 7
Johnston did everything he was supposed to do, defending decently and attacking well. He was brought off at half-time due to Celtic being in a commanding lead and needing to be managed after a busy summer.
Auston Trusty - 6
Did well to clear one off the line at 1-0. The centre-backs looked a little unsettled at times, especially for a period after Celtic went 4-0 up. Killie actually moved the ball well at times, and while Trusty and Carter-Vickers were solid enough, they could have looked a little more solid.
Cameron Carter-Vickers - 6
The same as the above applies for the most part.
Kieran Tierney - 7
Unlucky not to score in the first half, when he was denied by a good save. Tierney was a constant presence up the left and solid enough at the back.
Callum Mcgregor - 7
Perhaps not as involved as he would have liked, then again, McGregor will be happy to just do his job and not make the headlines. More than solid enough.
Arne Engels - 9
A delightful cross to the back post for the first goal, and he also did well to get into a crossing position, picking up the ball and driving wide. Engels was superb here, dominating the game in midfield and constantly setting Celtic off on attacks. He put some wonderful balls through to those in front of him and continued to provide that kind of service until the dying moments.
Benjamin Nygren (Off at 74') - 6
Should have scored just before the 20-minute mark, blasting a close-range effort straight at the keeper. On the whole, Nygren was lively, but he could have had a bigger impact given how open the game was.
Yang Hyun-jun (Off at 74') - 7
A much sharper display. Yang struggled against a well-organised Dundee side on Monday, but he found much more space against an open Killie side and looked a danger, running with pace and often cutting inside.
Camilo Duran (Off at 63') - 7
A lovely cross for the third Celtic goal, finding Hogh effortlessly. He almost scored himself in the 48th minute when he curled a rasping shot onto the bar. Duran still looks a little out of position at times, but this was another sharp performance overall.
Kasper Hogh (Off at 81') - 9
In the right place at the right time for his first Celtic goal, arriving at the back post and nodding home with a header. He couldn't miss, but it was a fine run. His second was a more difficult finish, with the ball trickling through to him near the penalty spot, and he took it brilliantly, curling the ball low into the far corner with a first-time shot.
Hogh then completed a superb first-half hat-trick with a diving header at the back post, turning home a deft Duran cross. Hogh then got a fourth when he was handed the ball right in front of goal by Strujek, the Killie goalkeeper, and the striker hammered home.
It was a superb performance from Hogh, and he only gets a nine because he did have a bit of a quiet second half.
Substitutes
Colby Donovan (On at 45') - 5
Came on at half-time and did okay, but he lost his man, Larsen fir the Killie goal. Donovan failed to ever look out wide, and Larsen was on his own. It was a fine finish, but you have to have better awareness as a full-back.
Sebastien Tounekti (On at 63') - 6
Should have scored in the 76th minute when the ball came to him in the box, but it was a poor shot, straight at the keeper. Other than that, Tounkti was plenty busy.
James Forrest (On at 74') - 7
Forrest showed endeavour despite coming on late and with the game already won. he fired one just wide with his weaker foot, was denied by Stryjek with another and saw a third shot blocked.
Luke McCowan (On at 74') - 7
Scored seconds after coming on, hooking home a bouncing ball from inside the box following a corner.
Callum Osmand (On at 81') - 6
Little time to make an impact, with Celtic largely just keeping the ball in the final minutes.
