Celtic gave away a four-goal lead to crash out of the Champions League on Tuesday night, losing 5-1 on the night after extra-time and 5-4 on aggregate.
The Hoops took the lead against the run of play, with LASK hitting the post with a deflected effort shortly before Callum McGregor's deflected effort found the net.
Before half-time, Benjamin Nygren's stray pass allowed Moses Usor to slot home, and that goal bred belief for the home side. Within 15 minutes of the restart, Robert Ljubičić found the net from the edge of the box, and Samuel Adeniran slammed home a strike from long range to cut the deficit to one.
Adeniran went on to rifle a shot off the underside of the bar, and it actually hit the back of Sinisalo but somehow stayed out. Celtic's nightmare became reality when Sinisalo pulled off a brilliant save but, for a fourth time, those in front of him hung him out to dry, and Florian Flecker headed home the rebound unmarked.
Celtic actually settled well in extra-time despite momentum being against them, and with the additional change made to bring off the injured Cameron Carter-Vickers at full-time of the 90, no further changes could be made beyond that.
But LASK found their goal when the superb Adeniran scored another long-range effort, finding the bottom corner after McCowan gave the ball away cheaply. LASK then won a penalty, which Sinisalo saved well
GK - Viljami Sinisalo - 8
Made a huge save onto the post to deny LASK in the 19th minute after a big deflection from a long-range shot. Not much he could do about the goals, with those in front of him failing to close down, for the second and third, and the first was a one-on-one. Sinisalo made a huge save at his near post with just over 20 minutes to go. He then pulled off an outstanding save for the fourth goal, only for Flecker to be left unmarked to score the rebound. Sinisalo perhaps could have done better to get across to the winner, but he then produced a brilliant penalty save late in the game. This game could have been a lot worse without Sinisalo.
LB - Kieran Tierney (Off at 70') - 6
Started well but the ball wasn't dealt with down the left on the lead up to the second goal. Tierney was solid enough for the most part, and it showed when he went off.
CB - Auston Trusty - 5
Gave up a big chance to Adeniran around the 10th minute, outjumped and beaten. Trusty got a better grip of Adeniran after that, but as we have said before, the midfield keeps betraying the centre-backs and leaving them exposed.
CB - Cameron Carter-Vickers (Off at 90') - 6
Similar to his defensive partner but actually the better of the two, showing plenty of strength on and off the ball throughout. At times, it looks as though this centre-back pairing is struggling, but they really are being hung out to dry. Carter-Vickers, to his credit, seemed to play through a wrist injury, too.
RB - Colby Donovan (Off at 73') - 4
Wasn't quick enough to close down his man for the LASK third, allowing him to set up the Adeniran strike. Donovan's positioning wasn't great here, and he looked out of his depth at times, despite playing so well last week.
CDM - Callum Mcgregor - 6
Scored the opener thanks to a big deflection, but took up a nice position to receive the ball. McGregor was pulled out of position for first goal, but it was really a product of the left-hand side not doing its job. McGregor had to put out a lot of fires, and it was as though he was on his own in midfield at times. He might get a five on another day, but his workload saves him.
CDM - Mika Baur (Off at 70') - 4
Nowhere to be seen for the second LASK goal. Baur is out of position, but he still has to cover that ground when playing there. It was a similar story to the third. He got nowhere near Adeniran, allowing him to strike from range and score.
CAM - Benjamin Nygren (Off at 62') - 4
A huge mistake to give LASK their first goal, completely mis-hitting it and playing in Moses Usor, who scored. Nygren tried a little too hard in the 10 minutes after his mistake, and it just did not go well for him here.
LW - Yang Hyung-jun (Off at 62') - 4
The inspiration behind the opening goal, going at his man and then cutting back. But Yang seemed to lose his composure when LASK ramped up the pressure. His decision-making was poor, and there were misplaced passes aplenty. We've questioned Yang starting for a couple of weeks, and the questions remain.
RW - Camilo Duran - 5
Nowhere near as effective as last week. Struggled to keep hold of the ball and looked a little out of his depth defensively. His opposing full-back had his number here.
CF - Kasper Hogh - 4
Missed a good chance early on, stabbing it just wide, and he should have done better than find the goalkeeper after 13 minutes. Hogh did hold the ball up well, but as an £11million striker, you have to bury your chances, especially on big nights like this one.
Substitutes
Sebastian Tounekti (On at 62') - 5
Simply has to do better for the fourth goal. Stops and completely leaves his man when Sinisalo makes the save, allowing him to score the rebound. Tounekti did not look as dangerous as he has in the last couple of weeks.
Reo Hatate (On at 62') - 5
Settled Celtic's midfield down a fair bit when he got into the game. Kept and moved the ball well. Loses a mark for giving away the late penalty.
Luke McCowan (On at 70') - 3
Made a mistake early on and gave the ball away, requiring Duran to make a foul. He should have learned from that, but he didn't. McCowan gave the ball away in the middle of the pitch in extra time, and Adeniran scored almost instantly from range. Amateur stuff.
Liam Scales (On at 70') -6
Made an important headed interception in extra time. Generally defended well.
Dane Murray (On at 74') - 6
An incredible headed clearance to deny Adeniran late on in the 90'.
Anthony Ralston (On at 90') - 6
Defended well enough.
