Celtic made easy work of Aberdeen at home on Wednesday night, winning 3-0 to continue their 100% record in the Premiership.
.Camilo Duran, who continues to play in his more naturel central role in the absence of Kasper Hogh, rifled in the opener with a superb strike off the underside of the bar from range.
Celtic made it two when Benjamin Nygren kept a shot low, and goalkeeper Marius Muller flapped a weak hand, failing to keep it out. The third also came before the break, with Duran quick onto a defensive mistake before sliding a through ball into Yang Hyun-jun, who finished expertly just inside the near post.
To their credit, Aberdeen never wilted, and they continued to press in the second half, but Celtic were too good and too composed on the ball. Substitute debutant Shim Mheuka was denied by a good save from Muller, Mika Baur also forced a good save from range, and James Forrest came close, but that was it for the scoring.
GK - Viljami Sinisalo - 7
Little to do. Steady and distributed well.
LB - Liam Scales - 6
Beaten a couple of times by Armstrong, but in the second half. Scales isn't a left-back and it shows with his lack of pace, but he was solid enough.
CB - Auston Trusty - 8
Not overly tested but very solid throughout, and that's all you can ask from your centre-backs.
CB - Cameron Carter-Vickers - 8
Much the same. Dominant in all phases.
RB - Colby Donovan - 7
Busy up the right and defensively solid despite Aberdeen regularly trying their luck down the left side.
CDM - Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Off at 62') - 7
Steady and helped control the midfield.
CDM - Callum McGregor - 7
Much the same, the Bhoys had no trouble in the midfield.
CAM - Benjamin Nygren (Off at 62') - 7
A decent finish to score Celtic's second. The keeper perhaps should have done better with a firmer hand. Nygren could perhaps have been on the ball a little more, but he didn't need to go above third gear tonight, and he's played a lot of football of late.
RW - Haissem Hassan (Off at 76') - 7
Nice movement and cross to start the move for the second goal. In general, he caused problems down the right and delivered some nice crosses. He perhaps tried a little too much, but that's what you are going to get with a tricky player like Hassan. Solid performance.
LW - Yang Hyun-jun (Off at 74') - 8
Really lively from the start. Probably his liveliest performance of the season so far. Provided a smooth finish on his left foot for Celtic's third, and was a thorn in Aberdeen's side all night.
CF - Camilo Duran (Off at 74') - 8
A wonderful strike to open the scoring, blasting home from the edge of the box with a powerful strike. Turned provider for the third, taking advantage of a defensive mistake and playing a nice through ball into Yang. Duran was excellent again here, and he might have had a higher mark, but he understandably took his foot off the gas a little in the second half. Quite frankly, O'Neill wouldn't have wanted Duran to work himself into the ground given the scoreline.
Substitutes
Oliver Sorensen (On at 62') - 6
We're not going to give out sevens for solid performances from the bench when the game was already won, but this was a very solid substitute debut for Sorensen, who looked at home in the midfield.
Mika Baur (On at 62') - 6
Much the same from Baur, who was solid in the middle and always busy on the ball, as he always is.
James Forrest (On at 74') - 6
We didn't see much of Forrest after he came on until he rasped a really good strike at goal in the 88th minute, hitting the bar.
Shim Mheuka (On at 74') - 6
Quickly created a good chance and was denied by a solid save. A confident start from the youngster, even if it was his only chance.
Sebastian Tounakti (On at 76') - 6
Busy enough and always wanting the ball.
