Camilo Duran's provided a brace for Celtic to see off Falkirk on Saturday, with the Bhoys maintaining their 100% record in the Premiership. Sloppy defending was to blame for all three goals, in truth, but Duran clearly has a knack for scoring goals, and he got both his fourth and fifth in the green and white Hoops on Saturday.
Duran started in the centre-forward position having largely played as a winger this season due to the presence of Kasper Hogh. The Colombian is naturally a striker, but he is able to play wide, while Hogh is very much an out-and-out number nine.
Hogh was absent on Saturday, so Duran was given the chance to start in his natural position, and he rewarded Martin O'Neill with a couple of goals. Aside from scoring four in one game, Hogh has struggled to convert chances so far, showing some poor finishing along the way, but Duran appears to have more of a scoring touch.
The Colombian also has a knack of being in the right place and the right time, with both goals tap-ins here, which obviously serves him well as a forward
Celtic made a game of what should have been a dominant win over Falkirk due to conceding a sloppy goal, which was ultimately turned into the back of his own net by Mika Baur. But the Bhoys ultimately saw out the win.
Another positive for O'Neill was Haissem Hassan, who started for the first time following his big-money move from Real Oviedo. The Egypt international was electric, and he only added to questions over why he wasn't brought off the bench against LASK during the week.
Hassam hasn't been fully fit due to starting pre-season late, but while he only lasted an hour here, which was almost certainly planned given his lack of football this season, he caused problems all afternoon and was the kind of direct winger Celtic have needed.
Duran has done the role well, even showing defensive ability, but there is something about a truly natural winger that Celtic have missed. Hassan could provide it, but he might have to shift to the left if O'Neill brings Hogh back in and reverts to starting Duran on the right.
