It is very difficult to get opportunities at a club like Celtic, where the expectation is to win almost every game. Naturally, some end up losing their place in the manager's plans. For them, loan spells can be a great way to not only get some playing time but to also eventually get into the team at Parkhead by impressing elsewhere. Callum McGregor and Liam Scales are great recent examples of this formula working.

So, one should always keep an eye out on Celtic players who are away on loan. For one of them, things don't seem to be improving.

Marco Tilio was signed by the club in the summer of 2023 from Melbourne City FC. He was a full Australian international and had drawn comparisons to Phil Foden back in his homeland. And with Jota leaving Celtic, there was a spot in the starting XI up for grabs.

Unfortunately, Tilio failed to make an impression at Celtic. Eventually, he was sent back to Melbourne City FC on loan. But his time in Australia has been filled with injuries. He scored the winner in their season opener but picked up another injury in the third game of the league campaign, was emotional and left the pitch in tears.

It is not hard to understand why Tilio might be getting frustrated with his situation. He had suffered multiple injuries last season and just as he was looking to get his career back on track, he has picked up another one.

It is never nice to see a player get injured. We wish Tilio a speedy recovery and hope he is back on the pitch as soon as possible.

Things can change very quickly in football. Just look at Nicolas Kuhn last season and now. Tilio needs to keep believing in himself and hopefully, things will fall into place.
