It is not easy to get into the Celtic starting XI and even more difficult to hold on to that spot. And perhaps it is the toughest to get yourself back into the manager's plans after you have lost your place among the starters once. It comes with the pressure of having to win almost every game that you take part in.
Unfortunately, Luis Palma seems to be learning that the hard way. Signed last summer, he was one of Celtic's most important players in the early parts of the previous campaign.
But right now, he finds himself out of the starting XI. He was at least getting some substitute appearances early on in the campaign. Even those have become rare now and as a result, there are serious question marks over his future.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, Palma is attracting interest from MLS. The Honduran international winger could leave Celtic next month.
Celtic player could leave next month amid MLS interest
Palma is a great talent for sure. But sometimes, that is not enough to make it at Celtic. And unfortunately, it is starting to feel like an exit is inevitable for the winger.
We have already seen one Celtic winger switch from the Scottish Premiership to the MLS since the return of Brendan Rodgers as manager for a second stint at Parkhead. That was Liel Abada. Could Palma end up doing the same?
Palma has the ability to make the difference in the final third of the pitch. We have seen that enough times in a Celtic jersey, even at the Champions League level. But the issue is, he is not consistent enough and when he is not contributing with goals or assists, he does not bring enough to the table solely as a player to get picked in the starting XI for the Hoops.
