There are quite a few players who could leave Celtic in the upcoming summer transfer window in order to make room for new arrivals in Brendan Rodgers' squad. Not everybody is in the manager's plans. That is just a natural part of football. But then, there might be some who feel that they have not even been given a fair chance.
Celtic have a few players out on loan right now. One such player is their Honduran winger Luis Palma, who is currently at Olympiacos.
Palma was signed from Greek side Aris FC in 2023 as the replacement for Jota. The Honduran winger made a very bright start to life at Celtic but soon lost his form and place in the team.
Palma was never able to win his place back in the Celtic starting XI. He spent the first half of this season warming the bench before leaving on loan to join Olympiacos. And it looks like the winger is not interested in a return to Parkhead in the future.
Celtic player feels the club have mistreated him
As reported by Futbol Centroamerica, sources close to the player claim that Palma's desire is not to return to Celtic. He does not want to come back under any circumstances, having felt mistreated by the club in recent months.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Palma. Olympiacos are believed to have a buyout clause as part of his loan deal. Whether they will take it up or not remains to be seen.
There is no doubt that Palma is a highly talented winger with a lot of potential. We saw glimpses of that during his time at Celtic as well. He even scored against a team like Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
But at the end of the day, consistency is key when playing for a club like Celtic. Unfortunately, that is an area where Palma was lacking.
