Celtic player could leave permanently this January
It is not easy to succeed at Celtic, especially for players coming in from a different continent altogether. The pressure is there to win almost every game and even a few bad performances could leave a player so far down the pecking order that there is little to no chance of finding their way back into the team.
Celtic signed plenty of good players under the management of Ange Postecoglou. One move that did not work out was the signing of Alexandro Bernabei.
Bernabei was signed from Argentine club, Lanus, for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £3.75 million. The left-back showed some flashes of quality going forward but defensively, he was not up to the mark and he faced some issues off the pitch as well.
It was not a surprise when he was sent out on loan to Internacional. What has been surprising though is his form for the Brazilian club. And it could lead to an exit in the near future.
Celtic player could leave permanently this January
As reported by Football Scotland, Bernabei could seal a permanent Celtic exit in January after signing on loan at Internacional. He is due to return to Parkhead this December but the Hoops will be keen to recoup the transfer fee they paid to sign him from Lanus.
A permanent switch to Internacional seems like the most likely permanent exit route for Bernabei. He has done well for the Brazilian club and established himself as a starter for them.
Of course, Bernabei's form might have caught the attention of other teams as well, especially in South America. So, it remains to be seen how things play out for him moving forward. But despite his impressive performances out on loan, do not expect him to have a future at Celtic Park.
