Throughout this window, the thought has been that Celtic will look to sign a couple of strikers. So far, they have added one in the form of Tomas Cvancara, brought in on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach for the rest of the season with an option to buy included in that deal. But finding the second centre-forward has proven to be more difficult.

Lately, there had been talk of a move for Kasper Hogh of Bodo/Glimt. But they have gone cold after the Norwegian side booked their place in the knockout phase of the Champions League, thanks to his winner against Atletico Madrid.

Now, a different striker seems to have emerged on Celtic's radar. One who does not have the pedigree of Hogh, but is in his prime.

As reported by Rudy Galetti, Celtic have opened talks with Noah for Nardin Mulahusejnovic. Rapid Wien made an approach with a 6-month loan plus a €1.5m buy option, but his club rejected it as no temporary deals are considered.

That €1.5 million figure does suggest that this could be a deal that Celtic are comfortable in making, even if it is a permanent one. Mulahusejnovic is 27 years of age and has spent his career playing in a number of leagues across Europe.

He has played his football in Bosnia, Slovenia and Russia, and finds himself in Armenia with Noah. It remains to be seen if Celtic do end up making an offer, trying to bring him to Scotland.

Mulahusejnovic has a mixed scoring record over the course of his career. For Noah, he has 9 goals and 4 assists in 24 appearances. But overall, he has never been an outstanding goalscorer, no matter where he has been. So, many will question whether this is the right move for Celtic. The club's recruitment record won't fill anybody with confidence either.
