Kieran Tierney is back home. Celtic have finally made that official, but it was pretty much the worst-kept secret in football so far. More details have been provided about the move as well. The Scottish left-back has signed a five-year deal, which will keep him at Parkhead until the summer of 2030. There is a very good chance that he might end up retiring while wearing green-and-white someday but hopefully, that day is far off in the distance.

Right now, Celtic fans will welcome Tierney back with open arms. It is rare to have players of his quality in Scotland in their prime years. So, enjoy him as much as you can. He is the last of his kind.

Of course, this is was not the only positive announcement coming out of Celtic in recent days. There were a couple more.

Earlier in the day, Celtic had confirmed that they would kick off their pre-season with a friendly against Queen’s Park on the 4th of July. This is the second consecutive year that the Hoops will go to The City Stadium. Last time around, it ended in a 6-4 victory for Brendan Rodgers' side.

The other announcement had come yesterday. The club confirmed that they will be facing Sporting CP on July 16 at Estadio do Algarve, at the culmination of their training camp in Portugal.

Overall, it looks like pre-season is taking up shape for Celtic quite nicely. On the other hand, the arrival of Tierney has now been announced as well and that is out of the way.

This feels like a nice time to be a Celtic fan. But then again, when is it not? Of course, there is room for improvement and hopefully, the board will make some quality additions to the squad, which Rodgers has been asking for.
