In case you did not know, Celtic have a lot to play for this weekend. They will be taking on St Johnstone at Hampden Park in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup. If Brendan Rodgers' side want to win a treble this season, they must win this match. But some eyes will be on their next game at the same time.
Celtic will be facing Dundee United after this. It is an away game and could very well see the Hoops secure their fourth consecutive Premiership title.
Celtic are just one point away from winning the league. Fortunately, they will get the chance to do that on the pitch rather than see a Rangers result end up deciding it.
They will just need to avoid defeat against Dundee United. But it looks like the club have some concerns and have released an official statement heading into the game.
Celtic release official statement nobody expected
Celtic put out an official statement on their website that goes on to read:
"Following the announcement of ticket arrangements for our forthcoming Scottish Premiership match against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday, April 26, we can confirm that we have raised a number of concerns with the SPFL."
This comes after ticket prices were raised by Dundee United for the upcoming game. Of course, the potential of the match turning into a title party for the Hoops is believed to be the reason behind that.
As reported by the Glasgow Times. Celtic supporters will face increased ticket prices. Dundee United have set ticket prices for the upcoming game at £42 for adults and £25 for concessions. This is quite the increase from the previous meeting between the two teams at Tannadice Park, when they were priced at £34.
It is worth mentioning that it is not just Celtic fans who need to be worried. Dundee United supporters will also face increased prices, with adult tickets costing either £42 or £40, depending on the seating.
Of course, there are multiple ways to look at the situation. It remains to be seen what view the SPFL end up taking on it.
