Celtic are looking to strengthen their squad as we head towards the final week of the 2025 summer transfer window. Clearly, there is not a lot of time left to get things done. But there are plenty of areas in this team that still need strengthening. And it looks like a Uruguayan international is on the Scottish champions' radar right now. In fact, an offer has already been made as well but it will only be accepted on one condition.

Left-back remains an area where Celtic need to bring in reinforcements. Marcelo Saracchi of Boca Juniors is a fresh name that has emerged in the rumour mill in that regard.

The Uruguayan international currently finds himself playing for Boca Juniors. He is 27 years of age and pretty much in his prime, but finds himself as a backup option. Of course, if he did end up at Celtic, that will be the role he would be expected to play, behind Kieran Tierney.

As reported by the Daily Record, Cesar Luis Merlo said about the situation:

"Boca already has a loan offer for one year with a fee and a purchase option.

“I understand, if Celtic improve the amounts of the option, the deal could be feasible."

So, it looks like Celtic want to have Saracchi at Parkhead on loan for a year before deciding if they want to sign him on a permanent basis. As a result, they want an option to buy included in the deal.

Boca Juniors seem open to the idea as well. But it appears that the Argentine club want the option to be raised for the move to be considered. Let's see if Celtic are ready to meet those demands.

It is worth pointing out though that not a lot of time is left in the ongoing summer transfer window. So, whether Celtic will do something or not, they need to do it quickly. They cannot let things drag on, as they often have done in the past couple of months.
