Nicolas Kuhn is enjoying quite the season right now. Coming into the campaign, his place in Celtic's starting XI was not a guarantee. But now, he finds himself with not only a secure spot in the team but also as the Hoops' talisman following the exit of Matt O'Riley in the summer. In 17 appearances, the German winger has 21 goal contributions to his name. An extraordinary number for any player, but especially a winger who does not take spot-kicks.

Of course, this kind of form will have caught the eye of many across Europe. Germany national team manager, Julian Nagelsmann, is among them.

Nagelsmann recently talked about Kuhn. And if he continues performing like this, a national team call-up might not be far away for the Celtic winger.

Now, Kuhn has reacted to those comments from the German national team boss. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the Celtic winger said to Sky Sports while referencing Nagelsmann's comments:

"Really good, I think that’s what we play for and the focus is now on Celtic, but of course that’s a goal of mine."

It remains to be seen how things go for Kuhn. It might get more difficult for him to perform moving forward because all teams will give special attention to him.

But at the same time, that will open up more space and opportunities for his Celtic teammates. So,=, Kuhn is set to remain an important part of Celtic's plans.

At the same time, Kuhn's form has drawn the attention of other clubs as well. Premier League clubs are believed to be monitoring the Celtic winger already and it would come as no surprise if teams from around the other European leagues have an eye on the player too.

Ultimately, the decision will be on Celtic and the player. The club should not even entertain the idea of an exit at the moment. We might be just scratching the surface of what Kuhn is capable of and if he does end up getting that German national team call-up, his transfer value will skyrocket.
