It would be safe to say that Brendan Rodgers has seen his fair share of Rangers managers come and go. Just in his second stint at Celtic, the Ibrox club are set to bring in their third manager. Mick Beale was shown the exit door in 2023 and this weekend, Philippe Clement was sacked. To be honest, the Ibrox club stuck with the Belgian for much longer than anybody could have expected considering how this season has played out.
Clement had impressed early on in his run at Ibrox. In fact, at one point last season, his team were able to overturn Celtic's significant lead in the title race and go ahead themselves.
That feels like a lifetime ago now. Of course, Celtic would mount a comeback and went on to win the league last season. This time around, it has not even been close.
Some of Rodgers' old comments from late 2023 have gone viral following Clement's recent sacking. While speaking to the media, the Celtic manager had said:
"Over my two spells here, Scott, I’ve worked against five Rangers managers and every time Rangers were coming. Every time, at some point. So, for me it’s normal. Like I said the other day, if I listen to media and press, then we would be in constant crisis mode and constant fear of Rangers.
“But it’s the fifth manager now. So for me, my focus is only on Celtic and concentrated very much on here. A lot of the stuff that maybe does go around, thankfully, I ignore it."

Celtic manager's old comments go viral as Rangers sack Philippe Clement
Of course, Rodgers' focus right now won't be on what is going on at Ibrox. He has bigger things to worry about as we head towards the end of the campaign.
Celtic are still in the running to win a treble. In order to do that, they will have to finish the league campaign strong and win it, which they are expected. Then, they will have to get it done in the Scottish Cup as well, which can always be tricky as every game is a knockout and there is absolutely zero room for a bad day at the office.
Rodgers knows how to get it done though. He has done it so many times throughout the course of his two stints at Celtic Park.
