It is not rare for those associated with Celtic to be linked to English clubs. But most of the time, it takes a year or two for that to happen. Interestingly, on this occasion, it looks like it has taken merely a couple of weeks. There are doubts about how long Martin O'Neill will remain in charge at Parkhead. At the same time, it looks like there is uncertainty around the future of his staff as well.

It has not even been a couple of weeks since Mark Fotheringham made a return to Celtic to be part of O'Neill's coaching team. In the past, he had been the manager of Huddersfield Town.

Fotheringham had also come through the youth ranks at Celtic. And while it did not exactly work out for him at Parkhead, and he went on to have a journeyman career, it is nice to see him back at where it all began.

But that stint could be short-lived. That is because, as reported by The Scottish Sun, Fotheringham is a contender for the vacant Norwich City job. He is under consideration by the Carrow Road chiefs following the sacking of Liam Manning.

Of course, it is worth mentioning that Fotheringham played for Norwich City as well. It is with the Canaries that he arguably found most of his success as a player. So, the idea of a return to Carrow Road might be an attractive option for him. Let's see how this plays out.

To be very honest, it would be understandable if Fotheringham seeks any managerial opportunity at this point in time. That is because there is no long-term certainty when it comes to his role at Celtic.

O'Neill could be handed the job until the end of the season. Or he could be shown the exit door during this international break. Either of those two are possible.
