Adam Idah is believed to be on the verge of leaving Celtic, pretty much out of the blue, and joining Swansea City. The move was not expected. The Hoops needed to sign a striker this summer to replace Kyogo, which they did not do in January. Instead, they are now saying goodbye to a player they signed in a £9.5 million deal just a year back.
Of course, things were not working out for Idah at Celtic. £7 million is a decent fee and if Celtic can bring in two quality forwards before the end of the window, this is a move that would make sense.
Yes, not one, but two strikers. It is believed that Celtic are already in talks to sign Kasper Dolberg. He could prove to be a pretty good addition, with a decent track record at clubs like Anderlecht, Ajax and Nice, while also making 55 appearances for the Danish national team. On top of everything else, he is 27 years of age and entering his prime. Let's hope the Hoops get this one done.
On the other hand, it looks like the Hoops have a French forward on their radar as well. But he is also wanted by Leicester City.
Celtic make enquiry about French striker also wanted by Leicester City
As reported by Football Insider, Bristol City forward Fally Mayulu been the subject of an enquiry from Celtic, who are keen to explore the possibility of signing him before the transfer deadline. Leicester City have registered their interest as well.
The interest in Mayulu is certainly intriguing. He does not have a great goalscoring track record. But standing at 6 ft 4 in, he will certainly be a profile that Celtic do not have.
Let's see if Celtic are able to get it done before the transfer deadline. We can only wait and watch it unfold right now.
