Next summer is going to be a big one for Celtic as the expectation is for them to improve their squad further in order to continue progressing in the Champions League after a promising campaign in Europe's top competition. And we already know one signing that the Hoops are going to make, as they have already agreed a pre-contract with Kieran Tierney.
Arsenal passed on the chance to extend Tierney's contract by another twelve months. An understandable decision considering his injury history and place in the left-back pecking order. That means that he will become a free agent in the summer.
Arsenal were not ready to part ways with Tierney in the winter though. And we all got to see why as he was brought on as a substitute for Riccardo Calafiori at half-time against Nottingham Forest.
Arsenal fans appear to have been impressed with what they saw from Tierney. Celtic will surely love what the London club's supporters were saying on social media about the Scottish international left-back set to return to Glasgow in the summer.
Tierney still a better lb than all the others

Tierney is 10x better than calafiori and should be starting.

Tierney is making us regret letting him go. Those crosses are just pure old school quality 🔥🔥

Celtic will love what Arsenal supporters are saying about Kieran Tierney
There has never been any doubt about the quality that Tierney brings to the table. Injuries have been his only problem.
That is something that Celtic will have to be wary of as well. The club must have a good backup option in place at all times.
Greg Taylor could have been perfect for that role but his current contract is running out in the summer and he has not signed an extension yet. So, it is very possible that he could be looking to leave for a starting role elsewhere.
Jeffrey Schlupp has impressed immensely since arriving on loan from Crystal Palace. He is out of contract in the summer as well and perhaps signing him permanently would not be a bad idea for the Scottish champions.
