It has been suggested that Brendan Rodgers wants Celtic to sign not one, but two midfielders this summer. As a result, the Hoops have been linked with a long list of players who can strengthen the squad in the midfield department. It remains to be seen how many of them they ultimately end up making a move for.

It is believed that a deal to sign Benjamin Nygren from FC Nordsjaelland has been agreed. He is capable of playing in the number 10 role and also on the flanks. But Celtic will also want someone to sit deeper in midfield.

As reported by Africafoot, Celtic, Fiorentina, Parma, Torino, FC Basel and Galatasaray all want Moussa Baradji. Sunderland are in talks to sign the French midfielder.

Baradji is 24 years of age and capable of playing as a central midfielder as well as in defensive midfield. He currently is at Yverdon Sport in Switzerland.

Baradji has only one more year on his contract at Yverdon Sport. It is believed that it will take a transfer fee in the region of €3 million to convince the Swiss club to part ways with the Frenchman.

Of course, Celtic have been linked with quite a few players with a similar profile in recent months. So, it remains to be seen if they end up making a move to sign Baradji or not.

At this point in time, it does look like Sunderland are the ones leading the race to sign him this summer. They are believed to be hopeful of finding an agreement with Yverdon Sport, as they aim to make a successful return to the Premier League.

As for Celtic, they have been very active in the summer transfer window as well. But a move for Baradji does not seem to be advanced.
