Celtic are in a great spot right now. They have already won the League Cup and are heavy favourites to win the remaining two domestic competitions as well. So, the chase for a treble is well and truly on. On the other hand, the Rangers find themselves facing another rebuild. That has been the case for the past several seasons now.
The club recently sacked Philippe Clement after he failed to get the team back on track. Barry Ferguson has been brought in as their interim manager until the end of the season.
There have been suggestions that the club could look to make a statement managerial appointment in the summer, with a takeover believed to be on the horizon. Let's see how that entire situation plays out.
Even though a lot might not end up riding on the results, the upcoming Glasgow Derbies are still going to be very important, as is always the case. And this time around, fans will be back in attendance.
Celtic make long-awaited Glasgow Derby announcement
Celtic released a statement on the club's official website. It read:
"We can confirm that following the previous SPFL determination from last year and with necessary requirements being addressed, away supporters will be present at the next two Glasgow derby matches this season at Celtic Park (March 16) and Ibrox.
Allocations will be around 4% of saleable capacity at both stadia.
Further ticket information will be provided in due course."
So, it has been confirmed that away fans will be present in the upcoming Glasgow Derbies. That is something that a lot of people have been waiting for and it adds to the atmosphere and spectacle for sure.
That being said, the numbers are going to be nothing close to those of the past. But still, it looks set to be a healthy one, nonetheless. The allocation is set to be around 4% of the stadiums. That would fall within the range of 2,000 to 2,500.
Of course, the focus will be on winning the game. Celtic lost the last one in one-sided fashion, 3-0 at Ibrox. They need to win in the next one, that is for sure.
