Celtic are in search of a winger this summer, as they are set to say goodbye to Nicolas Kuhn. The German talent is on his way to the ambitious Serie A side, Como FC, who are currently managed by the legendary Cesc Fabregas. He was a regular starter for Brendan Rodgers' side last season and one of the Hoops' best performers. So, they will need to find a proper replacement for him.
We have already seen Celtic be linked with Isak Jansson. Incidentally, he is the one who took Kuhn's place at Rapid Vienna after the Hoops signed him. It appears that the Scottish champions are looking to repeat their trick just 18 months later.
Of course, Celtic wil have alternative targets in mind as well, as the transfer market is always tough to navigate. And a French winger has also been linked with a move to Parkhead.
As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic have been credited with an interest in Nantes' Herba Guirassy. L'Equipe report that Club Brugge have made a £4.1million offer for him already but the French club do not want to part ways unless that figure is raised considerably.
Celtic linked with French winger as Nicolas Kuhn's replacement
Guirassy is 18 years of age and he has only made 21 appearances for FC Nantes at the senior level so far. So, it is hard to imagine that he will go out and replace someone like Kuhn immediately. The German winger was delivering against teams like RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
That being said, there is no question about Guirassy's talent. He has scored three goals for Nantes so far, and at the U19 level, he had 24 goals in 37 games for the French side. That just goes on to show his potential.
Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic do end up making a move for him. And if they do, how much of a bid will they be willing to make to the French youngster with just 21 appearances to his name? We shall find out soon.
