Wins have been a rare commodity at Ibrox this season. The latest loss for the Rangers came in the Europa League, as they lost their opener against Genk. Just to make matters worse for them, it was former Celtic striker Oh Hyeon-gyu, who scored the winner for the Belgian club. This is on top of Russell Martin's side not winning any of their first five league matches and also losing 9-1 on aggregate against Club Brugge in their Champions League qualifier.

Naturally, questions are being asked about Martin's future at Ibrox and they are growing louder with every matchday. It was just last week that it emerged in the media that he still retained the backing of the Rangers board. But has that changed already?

This is not the start that Rangers fans would have envisioned for their new era under the ownership of the 49ers Enterprises. And it looks like Kris Boyd believes that it is already time for a complete overhaul, just weeks after spending a ton of money in the summer transfer window.

Not just in terms of the manager but the recruitment team as well. Surely the new owners will love that idea, right? As reported by The Scottish Sun, Boyd said on Sky Sports:

"Rangers backed their manager because it is the start of a new project, you might be seen to be not giving up straight away.

“But looking at it right now, there is no other option than to start looking for, not only a new manager, the recruitment needs an overhaul once again.

“I can’t sit here and criticise the recruitment teams who have been there in the past and then look at this one and let them away with it."

Well, let's see if the Rangers make those changes or not. It is hard to imagine if they do, they will do it this quickly.

The most likely step is that Martin will be shown the exit door at some point. But even in that situation, one would expect him to be given every chance possible of getting things back on track.

But at this point in time, he simply does not look capable of pulling it off. It is a chance for Celtic to get further ahead of the Rangers in the title race though. Let's hope they are able to do that.

For Celtic, one disappointment out of this will be their failure to get the best out of Oh. It feels like the South Korean striker never got a chance, neither under the management of Ange Postecoglou nor Brendan Rodgers. At Genk, he has been a revelation and was on the verge of a big-money move to the Bundesliga in the summer before it collapsed. But he has shown his professionalism by continuing to deliver for the Belgian club.

On the other hand, Celtic have been searching for a reliable striker for a while now. Kyogo never showcased his best since Postecoglou's departure. Adam Idah was not able to meet expectations either. Both have left. Kelechi Iheanacho has shown a lot of positive signs lately and one can only hope that he proves to be a long-term success at Parkhead, even if the move might not have been welcomed.
