Tottenham Hotspur made a bold move in the summer of 2023 by appointing Ange Postecoglou as their manager. It was certainly a risk on their part and a decision that a large portion of their support did not agree with. On the other hand, the Australian ended up leaving Celtic merely days after guiding them to a domestic treble.

So, it was a risky move on the part of Postecoglou as well. Unfortunately for the Australian legend, it has not paid off.

Postecoglou did enjoy a bright start to life at Tottenham Hotspur. But for a while now, things have been on a downward trajectory. As things stand, Spurs sit at 16th in the Premier League table and most people believe that the time has come to make a managerial change.

Of course, there is still the Europa League up for grabs. Tottenham Hotspur have made it to the semi-finals and if they are able to win the competition, perhaps Postecoglou could retain his job. After all, Spurs have not won a trophy since 2008. It is very likely though that he will be on his way out soon.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Ally McCoist suggested the idea of Brendan Rodgers at Tottenham Hotspur. He said while speaking on talkSPORT's Breakfast Show:

"I tell you who might suit them - what about Brendan at Tottenham?"

Alan Brazil, who is a known Celtic supporter, did not rule the idea out either. He replied:

"There you go, there's another one. Good shout. If he thinks that's it after doing the Treble, we've progressed in Europe, now it's time to move on. Maybe."

Rodgers has said time and again though that he plans to see out the remainder of his contract at Celtic, at the very least. His current deal runs until the summer of 2026. Of course, there are many fans who are hoping that an extension is reached with the manager. Time shall tell whether that happens or not. But one would imagine that he won't leave this summer.
