A lot of players have left Celtic in recent years, only to find out that the grass is not greener on the other side. That includes names like Odsonne Edouard, Kyogo, Jota and several others. And now, it looks like the time has come to add another to the quickly growing list. It is one that many might have seen coming.
One of the most interesting aspects of Celtic this season has been Kieran Tierney's struggles. He was expected to cruise the Scottish Premiership but reality has proven to be different as it looks like years of injury problems might have taken a toll on the left-back.
In fact, many feel that Greg Taylor was better for Celtic than Tierney has been in his second run. That is quite the statement, and one that people would have laughed at even a few months back. But right now, there are quite a few standing behind it.
On the other hand, Taylor himself might be regretting the decision to leave Celtic. It is believed that not wanting to play a secondary role behind Tierney was the primary reason behind his exit. But unfortunately, he is not doing much better than that at PAOK either.
Celtic hero must regret leaving this summer after nightmare start
So far this season, Taylor has been involved in only five of PAOK's 13 games, being left as an unused substitute for the rest. He has started four of those.
It is safe to say that that is not the kind of role that Taylor would have been hoping for when he made the move to Greece, in his prime, to join PAOK. And the choice to leave Celtic might have been the wrong one.
Brendan Rodgers was clearly very keen for Taylor to stay and compete with Tierney. But he made a bold choice, which he might be starting to regret already.
