After a draw at Ibrox, Celtic quickly returned to winning ways. They sealed a 3-1 win over Hibernian, thanks to goals from Nicolas Kuhn, Adam Idah and Reo Hatate. The Hoops had actually fallen behind on the day, with Martin Boyle opening the scoring for Hibs, but showed a lot of character to mount a comeback, even with the league title already in the bag.

There was another notable incident on the day. Hibernian made a classy gesture by giving Celtic a guard of honour.

That is not what the Rangers did at Ibrox last weekend, even though Celtic had already won the title. Naturally, some jokes were always going to be made about the situation.

Peter Grant, who played for 15 years for the Hoops, made an appearance on Celtic TV. And he appeared to take a cheeky dig at the Rangers. As reported by CeltsAreHere, he said:

"I’d do it for Hibs – no problem at all. But nobody else. That’s for sure."

A lot has been made of the Rangers not giving Celtic a guard of honour at Ibrox. That being said, considering the rivalry between those two teams, it should not come as any surprise.

If the shoe was on the other foot, most people would not expect Celtic to give the Rangers a guard of honour either. Thankfully, very rarely has the shoe been on the other foot in recent years.

One would not think that Celtic are losing any sleep over not receiving a guard of honour from the Rangers. Their focus has to be on things that they can control and need to achieve. That includes winning the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen later this month to complete a domestic treble, which would be their sixth in nine seasons. A fantastic run, no matter what you think about the quality of the Premiership.
