Odsonne Edouard was brilliant during his four seasons playing for Celtic. While many feel that he did not do his best in the 20/21 campaign, the Frenchman still managed to score 22 goals in 40 appearances that season. But since leaving Parkhead, he has struggled for form and playing time, at Crystal Palace and also on loan at Leicester City.

In three seasons playing for Crystal Palace, Edouard managed to score 21 goals in total. That is not the kind of return that the club would have been hoping for when they signed him from Celtic.

Things got even worse this season. He was sent out on loan to Leicester City but Edouard struggled to get into their team, even though the Foxes have ended up getting relegated. So, it is pretty clear that things are not working out for him.

Celtic have been linked with a move for Edouard in recent months. Now, there appears to be an update on his situation.

While speaking to Football Insider, Mick Brown claimed that Crystal Palace want a permanent transfer for Edouard. He also said that there are clubs in the MLS and Saudi Arabia who have been looking at him.

This can be viewed as good news for Celtic for two reasons. Firstly, it does open up the opportunity for them to go ahead and make a move for Edouard. He is someone that Brendan Rodgers knows well and a proven striker for the Hoops, despite his struggles in England.

Secondly, if Edouard does end up moving to the MLS or Saudi Arabia, it opens up the chance for Celtic to land a windfall. There is a good possibility that they will have a sell-on clause included in the Frenchman's deal.
