Celtic kicked off their Europa League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Red Star Belgrade away in Serbia. The general feeling coming out of the game was one of disappointment as it felt more like two points dropped than one gained. That being said, all things considered, that is a decent enough base for the Hoops to build a base on for the remainder of their Europa League campaign.
Their next game in the competition is at home against SC Braga. While they will have the Celtic Park crowd behind them on the night, the Portuguese side promises to be a tougher opposition than Red Star. So, let's see how Brendan Rodgers' team fare against them.
Of course, everybody would have preferred Celtic to be in the Champions League. That being said, they have some interesting matchups in the Europa League as well, with the most high-profile of them being at home against AS Roma.
For that matchup, Celtic have been handed a major boost. It looks like AS Roma will not have any away fans in attendance on the night.
Celtic handed massive boost for upcoming AS Roma match
As reported by the Daily Record, Roma are set to face Celtic without any away fans as the Italian club await a UEFA punishment. Reports in Italy have suggested that I Giallorossi have already accepted that they will be banned from accepting any tickets for their three remaining away matches in the Europa League this season.
Celtic are not the only team from Glasgow that will be facing AS Roma in the Europa League this season. They have an away game to deal with against the Rangers as well.
Of course, Celtic's game against AS Roma is quite some time away. Until then, the Hoops have to focus on finding some rhythm and making sure that they can get this campaign back on track, after what has been an unsteady start.
