Celtic will be looking to strengthen in a few positions this summer. One of them is expected to be a striker. There are a couple of reasons behind that. Firstly, they never replaced Kyogo and there is a feeling that they need another out-and-out centre-forward. Secondly, even if you think both Adam Idah and Daizen Maeda are good enough, having combined for 53 goals last season, there is a need for a third option in case of injuries.

We have seen Celtic be linked with a few strikers in recent times. Mathias Kvistgaarden's name is most prominent in this regard. But other players like David Strelec and Danny Ings have also been mentioned in the rumour mill.

Now, a new name has cropped up. Rumours doing the rounds of social media suggest that Celtic are leading the line to secure his signature of Armando Broja but face competition from Ajax and RB Leipzig. The Albanian international will leave Chelsea permanently this summer.

Broja spent last season out on loan at Everton. In 11 appearances, he was not able to score a single goal. With Chelsea signing Liam Delap, it is pretty clear that his chance is not going to come at Stamford Bridge. So, it is time for a change of scenery.

Coming through the youth ranks, Broja was a standout. He was expected to develop into a physical Premier League striker.

That has not happened. Other than a couple of promising loan spells at Vitesse and Southampton, he has not done much so far. Perhaps, he needs to move to a different league and Celtic will provide him that.

The question is, is Broja what Celtic need at the moment? Everything about him is potential and at 23 years of age, he needs to start delivering on that if he wants to have a career at the top level of the game.
