Celtic are expected to be busy this summer. They have been linked with a variety of players over the past few months, while quite a few of them could head for the exit door as well. For example, if recent rumours are anything to go by, Brentford might be viewing Nicolas Kuhn as a replacement for Bryan Mbeumo, who is wanted by Manchester United.

On the other hand, in terms of arrivals, Celtic have some big transfer targets as well. One player they have been linked with for years is Mathias Kvistgaarden. And this might be the summer when he finally leaves Brondby IF.

As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are weighing up a blockbuster £12 million bid for Kvistgaarden. Before the end of the Danish season, the 23-year-old expressed that he was ready to leave Brondby this summer.

Celtic's current record is the fee they shelled out to sign Arne Engels from FC Augsburg last summer. But do not be surprised if they already break it this time to bring Kvistgaarden to the club.

Celtic deserve a ton of credit for scouting Kvistgaarden early on. When they were first linked with him, he was not scoring a lot of goals. But the talent was clearly there.

We have now seen that talent develop into consistent output. In the 24/25 campaign, he scored 23 goals and provided 7 assists in 38 appearances. Clearly, he has made the leap that has always been expected of him and is now ready for the next step in his career.

Will that next step be Celtic? We will find out soon. Unfortunately, the Hoops were not able to take advantage of their early scouting and sign Kvistgaarden when he was not performing at this level. Right now, it is going to take a significant fee to convince Brondby while other clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham United are interested in him as well.
