The draw for the semi-finals of the Women's Scottish Cup has now concluded, and Celtic Women have been pitted against Glasgow City. The match will be played on either May 2 or May 3.

City have been in fine form this season, not yet losing a single game in the Scottish Women's Premier League. Because of this, they sit top of the table, and have three wins and two draws in their last five games.

Celtic have been fighting hard in the title race this campaign and sit fourth in the table, albeit only five points off the top spot. They have four wins and a draw in their last five SWPL games, with that draw coming against league leaders City.

Although supporters would have hoped for the Hoops to pull an easier name out of the hat, everyone seems up for it. We all love a cup game at the national stadium - Hampden - and two top sides facing off with each other is sure to attract a good crowd.

Elsewhere in the draw, Rangers drew Montrose or Dundee United.

Montrose vs United had to be called off in the second half when the tie was being played on Sunday. There was a medical emergency, but thankfully, the player in question has been confirmed to be alright. That tie is set to take place later today.

How did we get here?

Kicking off their cup campaign, Celtic beat Dunfermline in their entry round under former manager Elena Sadiku. The match ended 14-0, with Morgan Cross, Amy Gallacher, Saoirse Noonan, Hannah Luke, Emma Lawton, Kelly Clark and Momo all on the scoresheet.

In January, Grant Scott took the helm and beat his former side Hibernian 3-1 to progress to the quarter-finals. Lawton, Cross and Maria McAneny were the goal scorers in an impressive performance.

Finally, Celtic most recently fought past Hearts at Oriam to secure their place at Hampden. It was a seven-goal thriller that went all the way to extra time, but in the end, the Celts did enough to win.

Tricky opponent, but up for the cup

In Celtic's last five SWPL meetings with Glasgow City, they have managed two draws and three losses. They have always scored in matches against the Peasy side, and the recent 1-1 draw had a lot of promising signs for the future.

If we start our best lineup, and utilise new signings like Maddi Wilde and Tara O'Hanlon alongside in-form attacking talent like Maria McAneny, Celtic could secure their place in the final.
