Celtic Women are Hampden-bound as they secured qualification to the semi-finals of the Women's Scottish Cup after a 4-3 victory over Hearts.

Grant Scott's side got off to a rapid start as they tried to hit the Jambos with pace. Attacking players were getting into the final third and trying to send balls into the box, and eventually, one came off for the Celts.

Morgan Cross worked her way into the box and took it well, smashing it home inside the area with just 24 minutes on the clock.

14 minutes later, Hearts would equalise, but Celtic would again take the lead right before the break through Emma Westin. Her cross was deflected goalwards by a Hearts defender, to the dismay of the hosts.

The second half kicked off, and Celtic continued to fight for more. The home side found some opportunities but couldn't make the most of them right after the half began, but they managed to pull a goal back with 13 minutes to go, thanks to a mistake at the back. The strike would end up taking the game to extra time.

The Hoops came out fighting in the extra half hour and put themselves back in front with a fantastic goal. Evie Rabjohn found herself in space, and as Hearts players were closing down on her, Hannah Luke moved into a massive bit of free space. Rabjohn sent the ball across the face of goal, and Luke's blistering pace meant she was able to meet it, tapping it home at the back post.

Emma Lawton added another with 15 left to play, and although Hearts managed to pull one back in the final stages, they couldn't find an equaliser as Celtic were victorious.

Brilliant on a cold day in the capital

It was a cold day at Oriam today, but a brilliant Celtic performance to watch.

The team did incredibly well right from the off and were attacking with pace. A few early chances could've gone our way, and Cross's early goal was well deserved. She was fantastic for the entire match and played out of her skin.

Saoirse Noonan finally got a chance after being left on the bench against Glasgow City. We predicted her to start, but Poppy Pritchard still got the nod. When Noonan came on, she was pressing and clearly wanted to make an impact. She had an early strike go wide, but was honestly deserving of a goal today.

Speaking of Pritchard, we thought that she was not great against Glasgow City last time. This match though, she was utterly phenomenal. Her movement was brilliant; she was getting in the right positions, and although there were times when she probably should've dropped deep, her impact was shown.

We can't talk about people making an impact without talking about Hannah Luke. The fullback was in the team right from the start, and her defensive contributions were excellent. Not only that, but she used her pace well to get up the pitch and tap home the ball for Celtic's fourth goal, which would ultimately be the one that would win them the game.

There was not one player who we think didn't perform today. All were brilliant, and although there was one mix-up at the back between Kelly Clark and Lisa Rodgers, they were all solid, with both pulling out good stops.

Next up - the draw

Monday February 16 will see the Women's Scottish Cup semi-finals draw happen at 7pm, streamed over on YouTube. Celtic will take on either Glasgow City, Montrose/Dundee United, or Rangers in the semi-final tie at Hampden.

Montrose's game with Dundee United had to be called off due to a medical emergency, with details for the postponed fixture set to be released in due course.

The Hoops will ideally be looking to avoid Glasgow City and Rangers, and the draw putting Scott's side against either Dundee or Montrose would be bliss.
