Celtic have been very open to the idea of bringing back players in recent times. Jota made a return to Parkhead in the last winter transfer window, having left just 18 months before that. Kieran Tierney will also make a long-awaited comeback to his boyhood club when his contract with Arsenal runs out in the summer.

On the other hand, quite a few former players have been linked with returns in recent times. Kristoffer Ajer and Odsonne Edouard are two of them, and fans have seemed opened to those ideas.

Kyogo left Celtic in the winter to join Rennes. It has not worked out for the 30-year-old Japanese striker there though and it looks like he might already be on the road to leaving the French side. Naturally, the idea of a return to Parkhead has been floated.

Kyogo was an immensely popular figure while at Celtic. But it looks like a good portion of the club's fans would not want a return to happen this summer. We asked fans about it and only 34% where open to the idea.

There might be a few reasons why fans might not be open to the idea of Kyogo returning. The first has to be the form of Daizen Maeda, who has scored for fun since his Japanese teammate left and he shifted to a more central role.

The second has to be the fact that we never saw the best of Kyogo since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers as manager. The system does not seem to suit him and perhaps it was the right time to part ways.

The third reason might be the fact that enough time has not passed since Kyogo's departure. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Maybe the same fans would be more open to the idea in a few years time.
