It looks like the Rangers are headed for a trophyless season. Their latest defeat might very well be their lowest point of the season as they lost to Championship side, Queen's Park, and were knocked out of the Scottish Cup as a result. Celtic are already leading the league by a convincing margin and this will only boost their chances of winning this competition as well.

Philippe Clement has found very little success as Rangers manager. Last season's League Cup, early into his run at Ibrox after replacing Mick Beale, has been his only piece of silverware so far.

Admittedly, they have done a decent job in the Europa League this season. But when it comes to the domestic competitions, Clement just can't seem to put together a run.

Yet, despite their Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Queen's Park, Clement is expecting to keep his job as Rangers manager. While speaking to Premier Sports and as reported by The Scottish Sun, the Belgian said after the game:

"Yes, I'm confident about that. Everybody knows how hard everybody is working together so, last week, everybody was saying that the team is taking good steps, growing and creating 8th position in the Europa League.

"It's not because you lose a game where you normally have to win 99 out of 100 that things change about the way things are working.

"If you do that, you're only living in emotions and there will never be stability in this club."

It would be safe to say that the majority of Rangers fans have already given up on Clement. And there is a feeling of inevitability about his sacking. With Steven Gerrard now available following his Al-Ettifaq exit, calls for the Belgian to be sacked are only expected to grow louder.

Yet, that might not be the easiest decision to make for the club, especially from a financial aspect. It was not too long ago that they decided to hand Clement a long-term contract extension. Sacking him this early into it would not be ideal. Let's just say that.

This was Queen's Park's first Scottish Cup win over the Ibrox side since 1882 and their first in any competition since 1948. Celtic fans will want to see Clement remain the Rangers' manager for as long as possible and continue creating more unwanted history with them.
