Brendan Rodgers' decision to resign came as a surprise and a blow for Celtic. The Northern Irishman had always maintained that he was intent on seeing out his three-year deal with the club. Ultimately, he did not, quitting in the middle of the season instead. Fortunately, Martin O'Neill has been able to steady the ship since being brought in as an interim manager.

Rodgers' decision to resign divided the opinion of the fans. Some believed it was a case of the manager standing up for himself and a move worth applauding. Others felt that he was quitting, having struggled to deliver results lately.

Whatever may be the case, if you are expecting Rodgers to spend some time away from the game after how it ended for him at Celtic, you might turn out to be wrong. On the contrary, merely a week after departing Parkhead, he seems open to his next move.

It looks like he is already eyeing a return to the Premier League. As reported by Molineux News, Rodgers would be open to taking the Wolves job.

That might not be news that Celtic fans enjoy. Many might question the timing of his Celtic exit, if he does end up in the Wolves hot seat so soon after leaving Parkhead.

Ultimately, though, Rodgers is a professional manager. If the right offer comes his way, the expectation is that he will take it. That being said, is this that kind of a move that cannot be turned down?

Wolves have made a terrible start to the season. They sacked Vitor Pereira, the club's previous manager, after not winning a single game out of the first ten Premier League fixtures of the campaign. Will Rodgers turn out to be the man to replace him?
