Celtic have been very active this summer already and it appears that they plan to move with this same rapid pace for a while, with a move for Hayato Inamura believed to be close to completion. On the other hand, so far, the 49ers era has not gone according to expectations for the Rangers. They have signed Max Aarons on loan while a pre-contract had already been agreed with Lyall Cameron, which has come into effect.

It does appear that the Rangers are waiting for move some players on before making their moves. So, one has to ask, what exactly has changed at Ibrox since the takeover? This sounds like the same story to us.

There might be some bad news for Rangers as well. Lille were being viewed as a potential destination for Hamza Igamane.

But as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Olivier Giroud has approved all contracts sent by Lille. It is an agreement until June 2026 plus an option for a further season.

So, Lille have already gone out and signed Giroud. The Frenchman spent time at LAFC before returning to Europe. Now, one has to wonder whether the Ligue 1 side would want to go out and spend a significant fee to bring in Igamane as well.

There had been rumours that an agreement had already been reached with the Rangers. But it appears that they were wide of the mark.

As for Celtic, they need to strengthen further this summer. On the other hand, it will also be important to make sure that their best players remain at the club. The likes of Nicolas Kuhn, Daizen Maeda and plenty of others are being linked with moves away right now. Hopefully, not too many of them head for the exit door at once.
