Over the past few weeks, it has been mostly negativity that has surrounded Celtic. At first, it was their inability to add quality to the squad before the Champions League qualifiers in time, which led to their exit from the qualification phase against underdogs Kairat. That was followed by a terrible deadline day as they sanctioned Adam Idah's exit but then failed to bring in a replacement in time.
It was a complete lack of efficiency and ambition on the part of the club. And the fans have called for change in the football model in the aftermath of it.
Hopefully, some change will happen in the future. One can only hope at this point. On the other hand, it looks like there is finally some good news for the supporters amid all this negativity surrounding the club over the past few weeks.
Alistair Johnston's recovery seems to be going smoother than expected, which has to be taken as brilliant news for the Hoops. As reported by BBC, the right-back said while talking on the Park The Bus podcast:
"It's a pretty significant injury, still. I'm actually ahead of where I thought I was going to be, but still a long way to go. I'm not really going to put a timeline on it just yet.
"I feel really good. I feel like I'm almost ready to go out there and play, but obviously I know there's still a lot of boxes that need to get checked before I get back to my full level."
Celtic fans finally handed some much-needed good news
It remains to be seen how things will turn out in Johnston's recovery from here. That update comes almost out of nowhere but is welcome news for the Celtic fans for sure.
He is an important part of this team and it is very clear that Anthony Ralston is not at that level yet. On top of that, the Scot has been dealing with his own injury problems too.
So, Johnston returning to the pitch would be a huge positive for the club. Initially, the belief was that he would remain out for around three months. But now, it looks like he could be back in action earlier than that. We will be waiting.
