When Brendan Rodgers decided to resign as Celtic manager, the majority of the fanbase had one man in mind as his replacement. It was none other than Ange Postecoglou, the Aussie boss who delivered five trophies in two years at Parkhead while playing a brilliant brand of football at the same time.

Well, it is unclear whether Celtic made contact to bring back Postecoglou or not. But there have been multiple reports in the media claiming that he was not ready to return to management just yet, so soon after being sacked twice in quick succession, first by Tottenham Hotspur and then by Nottingham Forest, just 39 days into his stint. According to Football Transfers last month, he had reportedly decided to snub interest from the Hoops in favour of taking an extended break from football.

Celtic have not brought in a new manager yet. But it looks like Wilfried Nancy is going to get the job, after drawing comparisons with none other than Postecoglou.

On the other hand, Postecoglou is already being linked with another Premier League. And it is one that seems to be a possibility for Brendan Rodgers as well. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, according to Alex Crook on TalkSPORT, Leeds United are admirers of both, as they prepare for a potential change in the dugout.

It remains to be seen how things play out at Leeds United. Of course, they are owned by the 49ers Enterprises. There is that connection with the Rangers.

So, Celtic fans would not like to see either Postecoglou or Rodgers in the Leeds United dugout. But you never know how things will turn out when it comes to football. It is a funny game for sure.

But most importantly, Celtic fans would not like to see Postecoglou back in the game so soon after it had been claimed that he was looking to spend time away from it. Then again, Leeds United are a historic club and one would not imagine that too many Premier League clubs will be looking to bring in the Australian after how his stint at Nottingham Forest went.

One has to wonder though if the Leeds United job would be the right one for Postecoglou. The club are looking to avoid relegation right now. On the other hand, the Australian thrives at playing an attacking brand of football, something that the Peacocks might not be capable of doing at the moment.
