Celtic are standing behind Wilfried Nancy for the time being. But for how much longer? The Frenchman has lost all four of his games with the Hoops so far. Even more worrying is the fact that he does not seem to understand the magnitude of the job. He continues to talk about performances after each defeat, the last thing any fan wants to hear.
It already feels like there is an inevitability around Nancy. He is going to get sacked. Of course, the Celtic board won't be too keen to make that decision this early. That would be an admission that they have made a major blunder when the majority of the supporters were against the appointment from the very beginning.
If results don't improve, they might not have any other choice though. And if Nancy does get sacked, who will be the one replacing him?
GIVEMESPORT have come up with a list of three contenders to replace Nancy as Celtic manager. One of the names is that of none other than Ange Postecoglou. An excerpt from the report reads:
"Now out of work, he would surely be a popular choice with the fans if the manager job opened up at Celtic."
Celtic fan favourite tipped to replace Wilfried Nancy as manager
Postecoglou was believed to be one of the candidates for the Celtic job when Brendan Rodgers resigned as well. But back then, reports stated that he wanted to spend some time away from the game after two sackings in quick succession, Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and then Nottingham Forest after just 39 days in the job.
That being said, Postecoglou has now had some time away from the game. And it might be easier to talk him into a return now.
Of course, it is very possible that Postecoglou might not be open to the idea of a return to Scotland at all. If that is the case then there is no chance of this happening.
