The transfer market is always unpredictable. Anything can happen in the fast-changing world of football. But even then, there are some things that people do expect to take place. But if Fabrizio Romano's latest update is anything to go by then it looks like something that no Celtic fan saw coming could be on the cards this time around.

Many key players have left Celtic over the years. That is some that the fans have become pretty used to by now.

So, it came as no surprise when Matt O'Riley left the club last summer. His choice of team seemed to be solid as well as he joined Brighton & Hove Albion, a side that has made a name for itself by signing talents from around the world and then developing them into superstars.

It looked like O'Riley could have been next in that line. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury very early on in the season and has not had a great debut campaign with the English club, although he did show his quality towards the end.

Celtic: Fabrizio Romano drops news nobody expected

Despite the shaky debut campaign with Brighton & Hove Albion, not many expect him to be shown th exit door already. Yet, it looks like that is exactly what might happen this summer.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano (via The National), O'Riley is 'one to watch' this summer. He is gaining interest from clubs in the Serie A, Bundesliga and Premier League.

It remains to be seen what the future holds. It is unclear whether Celtic hold a sell-on clause as part of the deal or not. Even if they do, it is unlikely to come into play as it is hard to imagine that Brighton & Hove Albion would be able to make any transfer profit out of O'Riley's exit, which makes the idea of a move even more questionable.
