Seeing Ange Postecoglou guide Tottenham Hotspur to the UEFA Europa League was an enjoyable experience for most Celtic fans as well. The Australian is still considered a hero at Parkhead, having won five trophies in his two seasons with the Hoops. Even more important, he rebuilt a team that had looked done after the 20/21 campaign.
Postecoglou has proven himself as an elite winner once again. He declared he always wins in his second season, despite knowing Tottenham Hotspur were trophyless for seventeen years, and then backed it up with the Europa League.
Despite this, there has been uncertainty around his future at Tottenham Hotspur. That is because they finished 17th in the Premier League. So, the club have something to consider for sure.
When Postecoglou declared during the trophy celebration that season three was going to be even better, most had seen it as a clear sign that he was going to continue at Tottenham Hotspur. But it looks like that is not a guarantee after all. Fabrizio Romano has dropped the latest update on the situation.
Celtic: Fabrizio Romano drops Ange Postecoglou sack news
While speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said about Postecoglou's situation at Tottenham Hotspur:
"Internally at Tottenham they are still assessing options. No final decision has been made but it's going to come very soon by Daniel Levy, Tottenham chairman. I can guarantee that Tottenham spoke for sure internally about two potential candidates. One is Marco Silva at Fulham and the other one is also Thomas Frank at Brentford."
So, it looks like Tottenham Hotspur are still keeping all options open when it comes to the future of Postecoglou. No final decision has been made yet and the club also have an eye on potential replacements.
It is also worth mentioning that Silva is viewed as a potential option to be the next manager of Juventus, who have missed out on a reunion with Antonio Conte. If that opportunity does come up for the Fulham boss, one would imagine that he would take it over Tottenham Hotspur. Of course, that does help Postecoglou's chances of remaining with the London club.
