Celtic need to get some players off their books this summer in order to make space in the squad for new arrivals. There are just some who do not seem to be in Brendan Rodgers' plans and it would make sense for all parties to part ways and make a fresh start. And it looks like one such player might be a step closer to the exit door after recent events.

In the modern-day transfer market, things are rarely a secret. Insiders always end up providing information before things happen. So, the latest bid that Celtic received for Gustaf Lagerbielke did come as a surprise.

It is believed that SC Braga have made a €2 million offer to sign Lagerbielke from Celtic this summer. Right now, it is now unclear whether Celtic plan to accept or reject it.

But as reported by A Bola, negotiations with Celtic are well underway. If they come to fruition, the centre-back will have a three or four-season contract waiting for him in Braga.

Lagerbielke leaving might be the best possible solution for both the player and Celtic. Now, it remains to be seen whether the move ends up materialising or not.

Lagerbielke did spend the previous season out on loan at FC Twente. He made a bright start but before the end of the campaign, he was struggling for form and it did not come as a surprise when the Dutch club did not decide to take up the option to sign him on a permanent basis.

Currently, Lagerbielke finds himself back at Celtic Park. But for how much longer? That is the question we need to be asking ourselves at this moment. SC Braga would be a decent move for the Swedish international. Now, let's see if the Portuguese club can agree a deal with the Scottish champions.
