Celtic defender might never play for the club again
Celtic are in a very good spot right now after their 6-0 win over Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup semi-final. It is not just because they are in another final. It is also because some had started to question whether the Dons were ready to repeat the heroics of Leicester City from around a decade ago and win an almost impossible league title. While that is still not of question, their confidence must have been dented after conceding half a dozen goals against Brendan Rodgers' side.
Domestically, Celtic are the best team without a doubt. But they might still look to make a few tweaks to their squad in January, especially if they are still in the mix to make it to the knockout phase of the Champions League.
It will not just be about arrivals but potential exits as well. And it looks like one player's time at Parkhead might be as good as over.
As reported by Football Insider, Rodgers has no interest in reintegrating Alexandro Bernabei back into the squad after a disappointing time in Scotland. He will look to move him on as soon as possible.
Celtic defender might never play for the club again
Bernabei was signed by Celtic from Argentine club, Lanus, back when Ange Postecoglou was the manager of the club. But he failed to establish himself as a key player under the management of the Australian and things did not change after Rodgers' arrival either.
Bernabei has been a standout performer for SC Internacional on loan. But he is scheduled to return to Celtic in January when the Brazilian season comes to an end.
His long-term future does not seem to lie at Parkhead. But after his performances on loan in Brazil, one would think that Bernabei will not have a tough time finding a new home.
