Following a poor summer transfer window, another failed UEFA Champions League campaign and a disappointing start to the season, it would be safe to say that the fans are unhappy with how things are being run at Celtic. They want change. Of course, the board do not seem to be keen on that and not much came out of their meeting with the Fans Collective recently.

A lot of fans appear to be open to not attending Celtic games, just to prove a point. And that was evident from the attendance in the UEFA Europa League opener against SC Braga, with 14,000 empty seats at Parkhead.

That surely will have sent a message to the board. Now, they are starting to at least listen. And it looks like concession prices are going to be available for future Europa League games.

As reported by The Celtic Star, this was the message that was sent to a fan who purchased tickets for the Europa League match against AS Roma:

"We wish to advise you that the Club will be making concession prices available for non-Season Tickert holder general sale tickets for the match v FC Utrecht on 29 January, 2026.

While we do not offer general sale concessions for every match, following supporter feedback and requests, we are pleased to be able to do so for our last two league phase home matches in this year’s Europa League competition."

It is no secret that the club are having a tough time moving tickets at the moment. So, this is them trying to make sure that there is a better attendance for the upcoming games than the one we saw against SC Braga, and will probably do so again when Strum Graz coming visiting next week.

It remains to be seen if the strategy ends up working or not. It is safe to say that the fan dissatisfaction is not just about offering concession prices for some games.

They want genuine change to take place at Celtic and for the club to move forward, and compete with some of the best in Europe. But that can only happen if they show a lot more ambition than they are doing now.
