It is pretty safe to say that Celtic fans are not happy with how things have been run at the club in recent years. The dissatisfaction has been very clear since the start of the season and it is only after Brendan Rodger resignation, and amid the search for a new manager, that the focus has been shifted away from it a bit.
It is very clear that the Celtic supporters want to see some changes to take place behind the scenes, not just on the pitch or in the dugout. Until recently, it had been Peter Lawwell and Michael Nicholson who had been feeling this pressure. Another name has been added to that list this week.
Paul Tisdale's name had been rarely mentioned in the media since his arrival as the Head of Football Operations. That has changed over the past few days.
It has emerged in the media that it is Tisdale who is behind Celtic's quest to bring in Wilfried Nancy as their new manager. One has to wonder the reason behind this sudden arrival under the spotlight though.
Celtic chief now under immense pressure after what has happened
Is this the beginning of a period when Tisdale will drive how things are run at Celtic, which his title suggests? Or is there a different reason behind his name suddenly cropping up in the media so often? The timing of the thing is interesting for sure.
If the quest to bring in Nancy does not work out, or if the Frenchman does arrive and then fails at Celtic, the fans will know who to point the finger towards. It will be Tisdale, not Lawwell, or Nicholson.
For now, the focus has to be on the task at hand. It does not look like the appointment of Nancy is imminent. Otherwise, there would not have been yesterday's announcement about Martin O'Neill and Shaun Maloney continuing in the role until a permanent manager was brought in.
