Of course, a lot has been made about Celtic's pursuit of Wilfried Nancy in recent days and understandably so. One could argue that the manager is the most important person at a football club. As a result, it is important that the Hoops get this appointment right. We have already seen what can happen when you don't, with the Rangers needing to make changes in the Ibrox hot seat pretty much every season.

Making a move for Nancy would come with its fair share of risk for sure. He might have enjoyed a lot of success in the MLS, especially since he does not manage one of the top teams, but he does not have any experience of managing in Europe.

And managing Celtic is a unique experience in itself. You are expected to win pretty much every game. Not many can deal with that.

It remains to be seen if Nancy will end up getting the Celtic job or not. It is pretty likely that he will. And if he does, it looks like he could stick to what he knows.

Exciting Celtic transfer claim as Wilfried Nancy move gets closer

As reported by Football Insider, Nancy is likely to look to utilise the MLS market if he takes over at Celtic. He knows it well from his time at Columbus Crew.

Of course, we saw Ange Postecoglou do something similar after he was brought in from Yokohama F. Marinos. He would go on to sign a number of players from the J-League and it resulted in a lot of success for Celtic.

Could Nancy do the same, but with players in the MLS? It is certainly possible. But first things first, which would be to get the appointment over the line before we can worrying about things like transfers.
