Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers finally shares long-awaited news
There has been a ton of positivity about Celtic coming out of the goalless draw in Bergamo against Atalanta. It was a great result for sure and showed that the Hoops are capable of defending well against top-level teams in the Champions League. That game is now in the rearview mirror though and it is time to look forward.
Celtic will return to Scottish Premiership action at the weekend. An away trip to Fir Park to take on Motherwell awaits them.
Celtic disappointed last weekend, letting slip of a 2-0 half-time lead against Aberdeen. So, they need maximum points from this game. Hopefully, the result against Atalanta has given the team a much-needed confidence boost.
On the other hand, the Hoops have been handed a fitness boost as well. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor are close to returning to action and might even be involved in the Motherwell game. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Brendan Rodgers said:
"We’ve got Cam back training with the squad, which is good news. Greg Taylor as well, so we’ve got one more day to go, and we’ll see how we are, but hopefully, they will be involved in the game."

Celtic have certainly missed Cameron Carter-Vickers in the heart of their defence. The duo of Liam Scales and Auston Trusty did well against Atalanta. But other than that, their performances have been unconvincing so far.
On the other hand, Taylor has been missed as well. Although, Alex Valle has shown flashes of quality and the Barcelona loanee could provide competition to the Scot for a place in the starting XI moving forward.
Of course, it is not certain that Carter-Vickers and Taylor will be involved this weekend. But the comments do suggest that they are very close to a return to action, which is great news for Rodgers' side. Let's see how things play out at Fir Park.
No game in the Premiership cannot be taken lightly. Celtic need to look no further than the Rangers' recent defeat at the hands of Kilmarnock as proof.
