Celtic already making enquiries about next manager

Celtic are reportedly already making enquiries about a potential next manager, even though Wilfried Nancy has been in the job for two weeks.

Wilfried Nancy has been at Celtic for just two weeks. But already it feels like there is no way back for him at the club. He has lost all four of his games in charge of the Hoops until now, and in convincing fashion as well. The Frenchman also does not seem to have an understanding of the expectations that come with this post.

Every domestic game is a must-win. A draw is considered a minor crisis. Yet, he continues to talk about performances, and him not having anything to prove, after these run of defeats.

Most Celtic fans have already given up on Nancy. The board do seem to be sticking with him for the time being and it is not hard to see why.

Sacking Nancy after just two weeks in the job, after the club decided that it was a good idea to replace Martin O'Neill with him before the Scottish League Cup final, would be an admission of a major error. And they would not be keen to do that unless absolutely necessary. Do not be surprised if they are willing to stick with him until the January transfer window, no matter how results go, in hopes that he can turn it around after bringing in a few new players.

At the same time, as reported by Football FanCast, Parkhead chiefs have quietly commenced their search for a contingency plan. They are already 'sounding out' options after Wednesday.

Earlier today, rumours had broken out that the club had begun talks over Nancy's sacking. For the time being, it looks like those were off the mark and the Frenchman will continue as the club's manager.

That being said, it is hard to imagine that even the Celtic board are capable of seeing this continue for much longer. Let's see where the club go from here.
